HMD Global is bringing out new versions of Nokia’s basic phones, introducing two fresh models: the stylish 150 and the music-focused 130.
Nokia 150 (2023) The Nokia 150 (2023) finds a good balance between looking good and being tough. It’s made from strong colored material, so the paint won’t chip off and it won’t scratch easily. Plus, it’s got a rating (IP52) that keeps out dust and light water splashes.
The back of the phone has a textured design, and the front has metal-feel buttons that look nice. Besides these looks, the 150 does what regular basic phones do and isn’t too different from the Nokia 150 that came out three years ago.
The front has a 2.4-inch screen that’s not super high-resolution (240 x 320 pixels), and the phone uses Nokia’s simple S30+ operating system. You can take pictures with the 0.3MP camera and save MP3 music on a microSD card (up to 32 GB). There’s also an FM radio and a place for your regular headphones (3.5mm headphone jack).
The battery, which you can take out, holds 1,450 mAh of power. You charge it with a cable that fits into a micro USB port (USB 1.1). The box includes a charger for it. This battery is pretty good, lasting for about 20 hours of talking or 30 hours of listening to music.
The Nokia 150 (2023) comes in Charcoal, Cyan, and Red. It starts at $33.
Nokia 130 Music The Nokia 130 Music, also called Nokia 130 (2023), shows what it’s all about with its back design.
It swaps the camera for a bigger speaker. Like the 150 models, this one can play MP3 music from a microSD card (up to 32GB) or from the FM radio. It comes with regular earphones in the box, and you can plug them into the headphone jack.
The screen is still 2.4 inches, it uses a simple phone operating system, and the battery is 1,450 mAh, just like the other model. It even uses the same kind of charger (micro USB).
This phone comes in Dark Blue and Purple, and it costs $22. There’s also a Light Gold version that’s a bit more expensive at $24.
