The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), along with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), carried out a raid on an illegal internet service provider located on Walton Road, Lahore.
During the operation, they found an active internet setup running without the proper license. As a result, three people were caught, and they seized equipment including 1 server, 1 router, and 30 Optical Network Terminals (ONTs).
The place has been closed down, and the FIA is investigating further according to the law.
In their statement, the authority mentioned that their commitment and watchfulness led to this success against illegal internet providers.
These efforts are important to stop tax evasion and financial dishonesty, which ultimately helps in preventing financial losses for the country.
The statement also advised the public to only use telecommunication services from providers approved by the PTA to avoid sudden disruptions in services.
