TikTok and the social app Lemon8 are getting ready to work together.

TikTok and Lemon8, a social app, are doing something together. Both of these apps belong to the same company, ByteDance, which also owns TikTok. This connection will let users share their Lemon8 posts on TikTok. They can also add music and sound using TikTok’s tools.

But so far, when people asked about it, TikTok didn’t say anything.

Lemon8 became more popular this year because some U.S. lawmakers were talking about maybe stopping TikTok. Lemon8 started as a lifestyle social network in March 2020. After that, Lemon8 got more attention on TikTok in 2020.

Before this, a report told us that ByteDance paid creators to talk about Lemon8 on TikTok. This helped Lemon8 get more users in the U.S.

It seemed like ByteDance thought that if TikTok got banned in the U.S., Lemon8 could take its place.

If this new feature becomes available to more people, so they can easily share between Lemon8 and TikTok, then ByteDance might get more attention for Lemon8 by using TikTok.

This might make more people start using Lemon8. But we don’t know when this will happen.

Right now, about 25 million people around the world have downloaded Lemon8. Most of them are in Thailand (36%), then Japan (24%), Indonesia (21%), Malaysia (7.2%), and finally, the United States (7%).
